Ruca Dog Kennel

   While the dogs are my life and the reason for all this, they also are very expensive.  Their diet is made up of meat, fat, fish and a high fat/protein dog food that can't be bought at the local grocery store.  We spend between $600 and $800 per month on food alone.  With wanting to race, these costs will also go up, as the dogs caloric needs do too.  Besides the expense of food, there is routine vet care, harnesses,booties for their feet (thousands are gone through in a season!), dog houses, dog truck gas and maintenance, sled and gang line maintenance                

        Any help is greatly welcomed and appreciated!  We want to race, to show that these unwanted dogs are truly incredible athletes and to promote the forward motion of change in the mushing world.  We have several mid distance races that we hope to participate in, but the added expense of racing will cost between $500 and $1000 dollars per race.  This added expense goes towards the extra food, booties, truck fuel and entrance fees of a race.

   If you feel like what we are trying to do is something you would like to be a part of, there is three ways you can sponsor us; 

1. By individual dog.  You picked a dog from their biographies and want to help with their day  to day care.  Please be specific and tell us what you like about that dogs.  We will send out updates and how that dog is doing and pictures. 

2.  Towards a race.  If you want to help us to get to an individual race, you can pledge money towards one of them.

3. Day to day.  If you just want to help with day to day routine dog care and expenses.
